Memoir Verification

One important question concerning publication of oral history literature is the extent to which the narrator is to be trusted? Is it the obligation of the oral history scholar to verify the memories? Is the scholar allowed to argue with the narrator? Does such literature fit the criteria of an historical resource?

Ayatollah Gholamali Naeemabadi was born in 1323 in Nemimabad, Damghan. He was arrested several times during the Pahlavi government on charges of opposition to the Imperial regime, and as a result he spent eight months in the Joint Committee jail and spent 30 months in Qasr jail, flavor and imprisonment; he experienced Imprisonment and whipping.
