Unpublished memoir of Dr. Qamar Aryan

A poem that never made its way to Mosadegh

It was a warm summer morning of 2010, when I went to BehjatAbad neighborhood in Tehran; to a house where on its doorbell was written: “Zarrinkub”. However, it was more than a decade that Dr. Abdolhossein Zarrinkub had left that house and this world. The love of his life and spouse was living in that house. I went to meet Qamar Aryan as the reporter of one newspaper on the event of her husband’s anniversary and hear about professor Zarrinkub. The meeting was coordinated by Dr. Ruzbeh Zarrinkub (nephew) and conducted in the presence of his wife.

Much to my surprise, I ‎saw the situation is unusual and in the short distance there are several aircraft ahead of ‎us. Immediately I said Mahmoud: "We ve become known, quickly turn left and to return." He obeyed, and a blow shook the aircraft violently while turning. Also we heard a loud noise. "Mahmoud, they shoot us." I said. Because the aircraft still flew well, Eskandari, who was one of excellent pilots of Phantom[1], flew in the returning route so low that the enemy fighters simply could not chase us. I thought every moment that we will crash right now. Finally we moved away from the area and landed at the base. ...
