19th Reprint of ‘Shah’s Last Ride’ Released

The Persian rendition of ‘The Shah's Last Ride’ by William Shawcross will be released for the 19th time in the Iranian book market on the occasion of the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

IBNA: Translated by Abdolreza Houshang Mahdavi, the book is among 1,703 book titles published in Iran in the first week of the month of Bahman, 11th month in Persian calendar, beginning from January 18 through January 22 2014.

Among the released items were 78 works on geography and history of which 66 titles were authored by Iranian researchers and 12 others were translations.

Also, 35 of the titles were published for the first time in the book market and 43 others were reprinted.

484 publishers from Tehran and other provinces of the country released the titles during the week in Iran.

William Shawcross’ ‘The Shah’s Last Ride’ is one of the first works published about shah’s flee from the country with special focus on the final years of the Shah after he fled the country in 1978.

Mohammad Reza Shah’s illness, his treatment efforts, the ongoing revolution developments, and the final years of his kingship are also shed light upon in the book.

All the book’s contents are based on credited historical documents like English newspapers and reports about prominent political figures.
