صفحه نخست شماره 112

Mohammad-Hashem Akbariani, writer and journalist, suggests the book “Samples of Iranian People’s Stories” for reading during the holidays. The book was compiled by Afshin Naderi in 2004 and published by Qesseh Publications sponsored by ICHTO.

IBNA: Sponsored by Iran Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization, the book “Samples of Iranian People’s Stories” was collected by Afshin Naderi and published in 2004, yet I managed to read it in 2012. The book is an anthology of Iranian oral and folklore stories from different urban and rural areas of Iran, Akbariani said.

“Some of these stories are as good as some literary masterpieces and I suggest reading this book even to professional writers, because through these stories they can find mighty materials for reinforcing their own stories.”

A good classification of stories is another feature of the volume according to Akbariani. “The collector has organized the 103 stories according to their form or structure to supernatural and fairy tales, animal fables, humor, songs, etc. that has made the volume more functional.
The book was compiled by Afshin Naderi in 2004 and published by Qesseh Publications sponsored by ICHTO.

The author has remarked in the foreword that the types of the stories and their international digits are given according to Aarne–Thompson classification system. The method makes a geographical-historical approach to classification of stories and is internationally acknowledged.
