Author of the Red Olive, Ghasem Yahusseini, believes that memoirs are the best way to convey Sacred Defense and the Islamic Revolution cultures to the society.
IBNA: A year and a half ago, the translation council of Howzeh Honari picked some Sacred Defense best-sellers for translation into English. Books like Da, Red Olive, A Sea of Stars, Last Sunday, and Fall 1979 were among them.
Red Olive is based on Nahid Yousefian's memories and written by Seyyed Ghasem Yahusseini. The book is presently being rendered into English by Dr Mohammad Ghanoonparvar. It is expected that Mazda publishes the translation in the US.
In an interview with IBNA, Yahusseini stated that such works are needed to be converted into other languages of the world and the Organization of Islamic Culture and Relations can have an important role in introduction of the Sacred Defense culture to other parts of the world.
He maintained that memories are the best conduit to transmission of Sacred Defense and the Islamic Revolution cultures so far as they are first-handed narratives of people who were directly in contact with the war events. "Such memories are historically admissible", he said.
Soure Mehr has published Red Olive in Iran.
