Note: The clergy, Hojjat-ul-eslam Seyyed Vali Hashemi, one of Sacred Defence oral history writers and researchers, is a permanent reader of our weekly and usually informs us about his ideas about the published articles in this weekly. By publishing several books in the field of Sacred Defense Memory Writing, such as General Rahim Safavi Memoirs, The North Star and The 8th Path, he is an experience oral historian. Here we read his ideas about our weekly and website:
As I've read in books and can recall, scholars of information technology believed 50 year ago that mankind's information and science doubles every 200 years. The theory has not only been on doubling and growth of human science but also Mr. Gustav Le Bon, French philosopher, historian and physician in his book, La Civilisation des Arabes (1884; The Civilisation of the Arabs), he mentions 200 years of time is needed for the transformation of one abnormity into a norm or vice versa. In this article, I don't mean to talk about the social transformations but I want to draw your attention to the possibility of relying on the beliefs of 50 years ago of scientists on the growth of human knowledge every 200 year. In 2009 another theory was raised that shocked everybody: Internet has 50 milliard information pages that the possibility of its retrieval does not exist for any mankind. At the end of 2011 it was announced that super computers do not satisfy ever growing knowledge and information of mankind and thought about the creation of a new super or giant computer that could meet the requirements. If some days human knowledge was carved and painted on cave stones or walls and if animal skin and papyrus recorded and saved information and after that books and other printed resources had this important duty and it's for thousands of years that these resources played and still play a key role in this regard, nowadays information and knowledge storage and record sources has gone beyond printing materials and is performed by a wide variety of electronic and audio-visual equipment. Although, audio-visual resources have some deficiencies (1) in spite of their advantages but nowadays they have stepped beyond printed material in information storage. Among these sources, e-books and e-journals are reckoned as the primary sources and allocate a particular position to them. Apart from the point that electronic resources such as books and journals have their own particular properties and benefits, they act fast in exchanging knowledge and information due to their easy transfer from one point of world to another point and easy accessibility. In our country, such resources have their own status and fans. One of these journals is Oral history Weekly. Perhaps the day Kaman Biweekly was published by the hard works and efforts of Mr. Sarhangi and Mr. Behboodi and it's been closed for few years by any reason, this point of view existed that no new magazine in the area of Revolution and Sacred Defense history was going to be born. But we witnessed the fact that fellows like Mr. Sarhangi and Mr. Karimi, and ... with their great sense of responsibility regarding two important events and two enormous and great occurrences of 20th century, Islamic Revolution and Sacred Defense, could not sit around and do nothing. They didn't deprive the enthusiasts of this field from the stream of unique events and incidents and were enterprise to publish the e-journal of Iranian Oral History. What matters and is important to know is that journal of Iranian Oral History has reached to its 100th issue. Although the journal has a long way for getting professional but it has taken positive steps forward till now. It seems that this journal due to being in electronic format has the deficiencies of audio-visual sources which these defects can be solved in no way. So in order to avoid this defects the engaged people and staff of this journal should every now and then print this journal for being wide spread so in addition of all segments of society, it can be shined in every corner of the libraries of our country and have its particular status everywhere.
Note: 1. The deficiencies such as A: The necessity to have a computer to use journal B: The necessity of having access to internet connection C: The need of power D: The need to have a software for getting connected to internet E: The need of modem F: The necessity of wireless cable or telephone line G: Having the address of journal website and...
