Praiseworthy works of Jalal Award announced

The closing ceremony of the 5th Jalal Ale Ahmad Award was held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Research Center of Culture, Arts and Architecture in Tehran.

IBNA: The closing ceremony of the award was held in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Husseini, and honored praiseworthy works in fiction, literary criticism and historiography.

Winners would receive 110 gold coins and praiseworthy works get 25 gold coins as an award. The 5th edition had no winners.

The award has been held since 2007 on the anniversary of Jalal’s birthday anniversary, and is aimed at promotion of the Persian language and praising the creators of great Persian works in line with Islamic arts, literature and science.

The following is the list of the selected works:

A: Fiction: Hafez the Seven by Akbar Sahraei, Soreye Mehr Publishing Institute

B: Literary Criticism:

Rumi and Secrets of Silence by Ali Mohammadi Asiabadi, Sokhan Publications

The Red Mind by Taghi Pournamdarian, Sokhan Publications

C: Historiography: No works were selection in the category

D: Documentary:

Nourodin: the Son of Iran by Masoumeh Sepehri, Soreye Mehr Publishing Institute

The Name (biography of Seyyed Ali Khamenei) by Hedayatollah Behboudi, Political Research and Studies Publications
