The Audiences Taste

صفحه نخست شماره 93

Our scientific and cultural lessons are in a way that we have just learnt to pay attention to the producers and their productions and make different statements about their quality and quantity. We like to talk about the weak points of the writers, historians and researchers or criticize a book or their released articles, and sometimes inflict deep and tough injuries on them.
Undoubtedly, this kind of behavior and function is the result of our cultural and scientific lessons for which we have many justifications most of the times. But we can act in another way. It means that we can play a major role in boosting the capability and quality of the activists and their productions through self-criticism. It should be mentioned that we generally think that we must look at and make statements about the content of Oral History website and its weekly journal until the best quality is achieved. We should talk about its deficiencies and shortages and emphasize on its strong points. But the writer of these lines believes that something else can be acted. It means that wed better identify our own taste and if it has deficiencies, we seek to remove them and increase its strength.
In other words, we encourage the writers and managers of the website and its weekly journal to boost the quality and quantity of their content through enhancing our scientific taste. For instance, it can be said that we can act like professional researchers and book readers in order to force the publishers not to publish any book but works which have numerous audience and buyers so that both their demands are met, and provide financial benefit for the publishers.
Thus, we the audience can make the managers of Oral History Weekly to move toward publishing articles and subjects which can have an impact on increasing the audiences understanding and recognition through enhancing our knowledge about oral history and Iranian contemporary history and theoretical issues of the knowledge of history in its modern and new conception.
In other words, we the audience can be effective in continuing the life and useful activity of this weekly and website and promote its status gradually.
So, it is better to bolster ourselves in order to have a better taste. Therefore, we should spare no efforts in achieving this goal. We should make the best use of the opportunity to explain about the not-so-desirable conditions which have emerged in scientific fields especially in oral history and Iranian contemporary history, and to bolster the richness and strength of the weekly and website.
So, instead of urging the managers to provide better subjects, wed better play a role in this regard directly and work in different ways to provide an ideal form.
