The Festival of Revolutions Book of Year, Needs and Necessities

One of the most important methods of making an event lasting is to write about it. When an event is registered, in fact its durability will be guaranteed and the posterity will be informed of its condition. Certainly, the posterity will start to research in order to explain better about the angles of the aforesaid event and to look at it more precisely and thoroughly. They will write new works, thus the event will remain alive and active in every period of the history.
The Islamic Revolution is considered among the most important events of not only Iran but also the world which happened in a sensitive point of the history, attracting the attention of everyone. The measurements of the event overshadowed many borders. This rare event immediately after occurrence took into consideration of the writers, literati and historiographers. They reviewed the secret and open angles of the revolution through writing numerous works. It is no exaggeration to say that thousands of books have so far been written about this revolution, and this research and production are still continuing.
The occurrence of the war just a few years after the victory of Islamic revolution attracted the attention of the writers in view of its various measurements and devastation. Since then, many have written about the Holy Defense. At present, although many years have passed form the war, the pens are still writing about it.
Creation of competition among cultural activists, writers and researchers of every field for producing prominent works with less error rate is perhaps one of the most important methods that the custodians of the communities cultural affairs can follow in order to have access to the best methods for introducing and processing an event. This healthy competitive atmosphere makes the mind of every single writer and researcher more determined unconsciously.
This auspicious act is happening for many years in the field of the works produced in the area of the Holy Defense and so far, we have witnessed the holding of fifteen rounds of the Festival of Holy Defense Book of Year. The extent of the holy defense subjects has caused the festival to be divided into various branches, and the experts review and criticize the produced works in every branch. Every year, we witness the introduction of the best works of the holy defense through such festivals, and the introduced works – after passing the blade of referees – are considered among the best and the most documented works in the relevant branch. The writers and researchers have doubled their efforts so that their works are placed in list of the best. They try to make sure of the authenticity of whatever they write. They know that their works would be reviewed and criticized and compete with other works shoulder to shoulder.
The less influential benefit of this move is the financial support for the writer and giving a prize to him or her. Although such prizes have no impact on the living conditions of the writers and researchers financially, its spiritual impact in the mind of the writer for creating motivation in taking next step in research is significant.
The holy defense may owe part of the growth and prosperity of its works to such financial and spiritual incentives which are given to writers in the form of the annual awards. However, it is worth mentioning that there are a few writers who stepped toward this lovely and mystic ground for taking a prize. The atmosphere of the Holy Defense works is the one full of spirituality the nature of which is not naturally consistent with material affairs.
Islamic revolution and holy defense are not separable from each other from one angle, and even if we study the literature of these two events, we will find out that their literature has continued and completed along with each other. But the question is why the cultural custodians are not thinking of creating the congress and the festival of revolutions book of year?
A branch of the revolutions literature has witnessed the holding of several congresses here and there since several years ago which is appreciable. The Festival of Habib Ghanipour which has been held for twelve times with the aim of creating motivation among the youth for dealing with the issue of revolution inwardly and selecting the best story book of revolution outwardly was an idea brought up by Hossein Fardi for the growth of the story of the revolution. Also, the Festival of Story of Revolution held under the Office of Literary Creations with Fardi as its manager is aimed at continuing this idea.
Here the question is why a great event like the revolution does not have a festival for all of its productions? Why dont we witness the holding of the congress of Revolutions Book of Year and selection of chosen works in this area? Doesnt the Islamic revolution have the capacity of holding a congress or festival? Literature and history of Islamic revolution is one of the most important issues about which the committed and faithful writers have written for years and will do without any expectation.
They believe that their goal is to keep alive this great event and regard it their duty. The institutions which head the researches of this area are doing their best for years to achieve this goal far from ballyhoo. Perhaps, bringing up of the issue of holding a festival for the produced works has no attraction for them. But it is necessary to mention that an issue like the revolution has new writers and keen persons who need to be supported and encouraged for taking stronger steps despite having commitment and belief in this great event. On the other hand, there are widespread researches out of the scope of activities of well-known institutions in the area of literature and history of Islamic revolution which need to be reviewed and criticized.
However, necessities like opening an umbrella for young writers and showing them the correct way of writing and researching, preventing from creation of scourge in the area of literature and history of Islamic revolution, spreading the culture of Islamic revolution at the level of the current society and writing better works which befit the dignity of the revolution require that a festival under the title of "Islamic Revolutions Book of Year" is held so that researches and written works about the revolution are organized and be an incentive for all of those who had taken steps in this way while introducing the best works every year. Such festival which can be considered as one of the important cultural events of the country may pave the way for accomplishing some of our wishes like creating masterpieces in the story of the revolution.
