At Sea and Seafaring Persian Gulf Museum
A cool 1000,000 document pieces including pictures and letters about the marine forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the Sacred Defense have been disclosed after some 30 years at the Sea and Seafaring Persian Gulf Museum.
The sections Documents and Pictures of the Marine Forces of the Islamic Republic Of Iran during the Sacred Defense and Knowing the Persian Gulf of the museum were launched in a ceremony held yesterday (Saturday, December 4) in the presence of Brigadier General Seyyed Mehrdad Ale Ahmad, head of the Theoretical Research and Strategic Studies Office, and a number of researchers and marine forces officers.
Moreover, on the sidelines of the ceremony, some historical books by Prof Iraj Nabipour, Ghasem Yahusseini and Hassan Zangeneh, all concerning the Persian Gulf were put on display.
The museum is located in Bushehr province. Its building was constructed in 1856 as the summer resort of British representatives in Bushehr.
