Shams Al-e-Ahmad dies at 81

Farewell with Jalal's junior brother

Shams Al-e-Ahmad, junior brother of Jalal Al-e-Ahmad, who had been hospitalized since 28 October, passed away last night (5 December 2010) at Bahonar Hospital of Tehran due to sever pulmonary infection that led to cardiac arrest.

IBNA: According to the ICU Matron of Bahonar Hospital of Tehran, "Shams has been breathing with pulmotor's aid and he died at 11:00 last night due to heart arrest."

Shams Al-e-Ahmad, son of Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Taleghani and younger brother of Jalal Al-e-Ahmad, was born in 1929. After graduation in literature, philosophy and educational sciences, he got his BA from the University of Tehran and a diploma from the University of Syracuse. He has worked as a journalist for Etelaat and Kayhan papers and held a post in the IRIB for a limited period of time.

Among his publications are: 'Tooti-Nameh or Javaher-al-Asrar' issued 31 years ago, 'Gahvareh', 'Aghigheh', 'Ancient Stories' series, 'In Brother's Eyes', and 'The Narrative of Revolution'.
