The book entitled "An Introduction to the Architecture Oral History of Iran" was published by Rouzaneh publications and distributed soon.
The author of this book is Seyedeh Mitra Hashemi by an introduction by Mehrdad Ghayyoomi Bidhendi. In his commentary, he has discussed on the root of "history" in Persian and its syntax as genitive, noun and referent and then he has analyzed oral history terminology and architecture and at the end of his commentary he has mentioned as follows: "This book is the first book written on the architecture oral history of Iran and is also one of the few books on the architecture oral history in the world." He suggested this book as a fruitful resource for the researchers of architecture history. In the future a more detailed presentation will be provided for this book.
Seyedeh Mitra Hashemi is the author and scientific editor of Culture Foundation of Kashan. She earned degrees of MS of Architectural Studies of Iran from Shahid Beheshti University and also is graduated from Iran University of Science and Technology on BS of Architecture. It's good to mention that her dissertation defense session for MS of Architectural Studies of Iran at School of Architecture and Environmental Design of Shahid Beheshti University on "Oral History of Architectural History of Iran; An Introduction to Theoretical and Practical Topics" was held at August 2011. She has other pieces of experience such as participating in the 7th conference of oral history that was held on January 2012 at Majlis Library. Her article was entitled "Different Views on Composition at Oral History". She has also commented at No. 100 of Oral History Weekly.

In the prologue, referring to the definition of oral history and its oldness in Iran the author has explained about the chapters of the book and given a brief explanation on the sections of the book. In the end she has praised Dr. Ghayyoomi and Alireza Kamari and Dr. Kianoush Kiani and his companions. A note is written on the back cover of the book as follows:
"Oral history is one of the new branches of history that is mostly welcomed in the past few decades. Despite the various activities that have been done in this field, its theoretical and practical bases are still obscure. Oral history is based on the historical information of people's memories. The importance of oral database at architecture history of Iran is double as written records in this field are rare and remaining physical records are being transformed and ruined. However, the importance of these history records of architecture is neglected till now, whereas those who have valuable information on architecture of Iran are going to pass away and deprive us of their information.
This book is a reflection on the theoretical and practical topics of architecture of Iran and is the first step to preserve valuable historical records. In the first part the author tries to define oral history and architecture oral history of Iran and its importance, advantages and necessities and background of oral history and oral history of architecture in Iran and in the world. In the second part, the practical topics of oral history of architecture of Iran such as interview, data collection, information processing, archiving and validating oral evidences and finally editing historical narratives are reviewed.
