IBNA- In the 200th Bukhara Night program held for noted Iranian historian Mansoureh Ettehadieh (PhD), the scholar Zibakalam said that the distinguished aspect of her work, unlike many others is a historiography not plagued by Marxism.”
According to IBNA correspondent, the 200th Bukhara Night program was held in honor of Mansoureh Ettehadieh (Nezam Mafi) on Wednesday evening, April 29, 2015. The event was attended by notable figures like Sadegh Zibakalam (Professor of Political Science at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Tehran University), Jaleh Amouzgar (Professor of Ancient Languages and Persian Literature Faculty of Tehran University) and Seyyed Sadeq Sajadi (Member of the Great Islamic Encyclopedia Foundation). Furthermore, Simin Fasihi (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Literature and Humanities of Al Zahra University), Dr. Negin Yavari (Assistant Professor of History and Humanities at New School University, N.Y.) wre present and made speeches. Referring to Ettehadieh’s works, Zibakalam stated: “Looking back at the works of this lady I see her as one of the few Iranian historians who are not fascinated by what the westerners have written about Iran.” “The most significant feature of Ettehadiehs work is not writing the history, but the fact that this academic is among the few contemporary figures whose writings are not plagued by Marxism influences,” he added. Our historian lady wrote at a time when the strong Marxist stereotypes were prevalent in the notion of the Iranian history. For this reason, I think it is not simply important how correctly she narrated the history, but more important is that she was not trapped by the transmission of a predetermined historical format, Zibakalam suggested. Following the ceremony, Simin Fasihi, a student of Ettehadieh asserted that her teacher, as a female historian, entered the field of history at a time when historiography was quite dominated by men. Other eminent Iranian scholars and artists like Karim Mojtahedi; Dr. Ehsan Eshraqi (PhD), Nasrollah Pourjavadi, Mansour Sefatgol (PhD), Manouchehr Parsadoust and theater Director Pari Saberi were also attended the honoring ceremony.
