صفحه نخست شماره 193

According to Iran’s Book News Agency (IBNA), the meeting of unveiling the oral history collection books of Saless Publications about Simin Behbahani and Javand Mojabi was held on January 22, 2015. In the meeting, Javad Mojabi, Enayat Samiee, Mohammad Hosseini, Mohammad Hashem Akbariani Ali Shoruqi, Nastin Javadi, Ali Behbahani and Hossein Behbahani delivered speeches.
About Javad Mojabi’s book, Mohammad Hosseini an official in Saless Publications said, “Javad Mojabi’s book were involved in getting the permission for publication for some seven years until finally it was released with the least damage. Decades of Mojabi’s continuous cultural work and writing in different fields ranging from poems and novels to painting and active journalism is not hidden from anyone. Mojabi is the person who has written part of the brightest novels of the recent decades.”
About Javad Mojabi, Enayat Hosseini said, “In terms of numerous literary and artistic activities, Mojabi is a multi-figure man that I don’t know which of them Mojabi is. He analyzes the 60-year experience of a generation whose reading is enjoyable.”
Mohammad Hashem Akbariani, the Secretary of “The Collection of Oral History of Iranian Contemporary Literature” of Saless Publications who has conducted interviews with Simin Behbahani said, “14 volumes of the collection have so far been published. In the beginning of collecting oral history materials, I deemed it necessary to gain experience in this regard. Thus, I went to see Simin Behbahani . However, this book was released today after several years. The first contacts for interviewing Simin Behbahani started from 2001 which initially faced with her opposition due to illness, but with the help of Ali Bahbahani and during a five-year period, just five interviews were conducted. We met her for the last time on first of May 2006. However, the book was published after her death.”
Elsewhere, Akbariani said, “Today, a collection has been released which can show how the contemporary literature was shaped and grown during the past three decades. In a period when lots of people intended to turn off the light of literature, such literary figures stopped it.”
Ali Shorouqi who was responsible for conducting the interviews of Javad Mojabi said in the ceremony, “Oral history is not merely the personal life of a writer. When a writer starts his or her work, even his or her personal relations would become public. Mojabi’s memoirs are rich because he has witnessed many events in his life, and his various activities and relations with numerous prominent figures in different periods of life has been the reason behind this. However, what has been written in the book is not merely Javad Mojabi’s narration. The narration of other people can complete the existing image or even be in contrast to it.”
About how the book was provided, he said, “The interviews of the book took some two years. At first, they were not supposed to be in challenging form. The book was supposed to be Mojabi’s narration from the events and individuals and I direct them. The published book is just part of the interviews. In other words, the entire interviews are more than twofold of the current book.
At the end of the meeting, Mojabi said, “The interviews became some 1500 pages which include three separate parts. The first one includes my biography and the two others are the meetings I had with different people from poets and writers to artists and a few politicians, although I am not interested in politics. Soon in the book “Memoirs of the Last Generation”, I talk about all the people I have seen since 1960s until now by referring to their public and useful aspects which can help others too".
