Book considers literature and revolution from Asia to America

IBNA- The Persian translation of ‘Literature and Revolution: A Critical Study of the Writer and Communism in the Twentieth Century’ by Jürgen Rühle has been released in the Iranian book market.
According to IBNA correspondent, ‘Literature and Revolution: A Critical Study of the Writer and Communism in the Twentieth Century’ which has been translated into Persian by Ali Asghar Haddad studies the impact of a revolutionary movements on literature and the influence they had on the prominent authors and thinkers throughout the world. Romain Rolland, Jean Paul Sartre, Ignazio Silone, Federico Garcia Lorca, John Steinbeck, Robindranat Tagore and Andre Gide are among those writers and thinkers whose works have been observed by Jürgen Rühle.
Parts of the book reads: “Gid concluded that the (former) Soviet Union was dominated by a bureaucratic dictatorship not the proletarian dictatorship, the fact that even in Nazi Germany the human spirit had not been incarcerated as much as in Bolshevik regime. Although he had tried to offer a fair judgment, his book on the Soviet union proved to be so controversial….” The book has been printed and released by Nashr-e Ney Publication Institute in 408 pages.
