Iranian novel selected among the best of MIBF

IBNA- The Russian translation of Iranian novel ‘The Dead of the Green Garden’ by Mohammad Reza Bairami selected as one of the ten best books of the 2014 Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF).
According to IBNA correspondent quoting Soureh Mehr Publication Institute, the Russian translation of ‘The Dead of the Green Garden’ was published in cooperation with Moscow Foundation of Islamic Studies and was showcased at the 27th Moscow International Book Fair. The novel narrates one of the significant events in the history of Iran during the first half of the 20th Century: the Pahlavi regime’s attack against Azerbaijan Democratic Party which was being backed by the former Soviet Union and ruled the Azerbaijan People's Government in 1945- 1946. Later, when the Soviet forces retreat from Iran to join their army in war against Germany, numerous members of Azerbaijan Democratic Party flee to the Soviet Union. One of them is Balash, the director of Azerbaijan People's Government Radio and the protagonist of the novel which takes shelter in USSR accompanied by his son. The Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF) which which its 27th edition was held from September 3-8, was established in 1977 and is an official member of the International Organization of Book Publishers.
