Iran's Book House will launch new scholarly journals

IBNA- Director General of Iran's Book House Najaf Ali Mirzaei gave details about launching new research quarterlies tasked with developing book criticism. According to IBNA correspondent, at the meeting, “Evaluating the Monthly Journals of Iran's Book House” which was held on Tuesday, June 1 Mirzaei said: “Almost two billion rials (about US$670,000) with their being spent [in the former administration] for journals which were whether stockpiled or distributed free of charge.”


Culture Minister has translated five books on Palestine

IBNA- “Iran's culture Minister, Ali Jannati has translated five books about Palestine crises and the resistance of Palestinian people,” says Hossein Olfati, an advisor to Culture Minister. Speaking to IBNA correspondent, Olfati stated: “The first book Jannati translated on Palestine outside Iran was ‘Experiences from Palestine Revolution’ by Munir Shafiq.


Democracy and power, on the 18th International Oral History Congress

From 9 to 12 July, the University of Barcelona, together with other institutions, organizes the18th International Oral History Congress, commissioned by the International Oral History Association (IOHA). Veterans from Selma and Kingsburg were honored recently at a California State University, Fresno ceremony held at Clovis Veterans Memorial District. Cheryl Stewart, of Selma, served in the Air Force during the Cold War era. June Moran, of Kingsburg, is a Marine Corps veteran who served during World War II.

Gaza Is Not Alone …

Iranian artists have come together on Wednesday 1st of Mordad 1392 solar hijri (July 23, 2014) at the Art Bureau in Tehran for a meeting entitled “Gaza Is Not Alone” to express their solidarity with the people of Gaza, which have been a prime target for Israeli air and ground attacks over the past weeks.
In a statement signed by the artists, the Zionist regime aggression on Gaza was condemned.
“Taking action against Israeli crimes in Gaza in every corner of the world would have its own political, social and cultural impact,” Morteza Gudarzi, the director of the Art Bureau’s Visual Arts Center, which is the organizer of the gathering, said in a press release on Tuesday.
